About the Pose

Wild Thing is a joyful, expressive, and exhilarating backbend and heart-opener. It is typically entered from Side Plank or Downward-Facing Dog, creating a feeling of freedom and expansive energy.

How to Practice

  1. From Downward-Facing Dog, lift your right leg high (Three-Legged Dog).
  2. Bend your right knee and begin to open your hip, stacking it over the left.
  3. Continue the momentum, flipping your body over to land on the ball of your right foot behind you.
  4. Keep your left leg straight. Press firmly into your left hand and lift your hips high, reaching your right arm up and over.
