Aerial Yoga is a modern, hybrid style of yoga that combines traditional yoga poses, Pilates, and dance with the use of a soft, silk hammock suspended from the ceiling.

What to Expect in a Class

  • The Hammock: The main prop is a soft, fabric hammock that supports your body weight.
  • Support and Decompression: The hammock allows you to hang freely, decompressing the spine.
  • Inversions: The hammock supports your hips, allowing you to hang upside down with no pressure on your head or neck.
  • Strength Building: You will use your core and upper body strength to lift and move yourself in and around the hammock.
  • The "Floating Savasana": The class often ends with final relaxation cocooned inside the hammock.
