About the Pose
Frog Pose is an intense inner thigh and hip stretch performed on the belly or with knees on the mat. It provides a deep opening for the adductor muscles and can be modified for various levels of flexibility.
How to Practice
- Start in Tabletop position on your mat. Slowly begin to walk your knees wider apart.
- Keep your ankles in line with your knees, with your feet flexed.
- Lower down onto your forearms, keeping your hips in line with your knees.
- Breathe deeply and hold, allowing gravity to gently open your inner thighs.
Purpose & Benefits
- Intense Inner Thigh Stretch: Deeply opens the adductor muscles.
- Hip Opener: Increases flexibility in the hip joints.
- Restorative Variation: Can be practiced restoratively with support from bolsters.
