About the Pose
Lizard Pose (Utthan Pristhasana) is a deep hip-opening lunge that targets the hip flexors, hamstrings, and quadriceps. It offers a powerful stretch and can be modified for all levels.
How to Practice
- From Downward-Facing Dog, step your right foot to the outside of your right hand.
- Lower your back knee to the ground for a gentler version, or keep it lifted for more intensity.
- You can stay on your hands, or for a deeper stretch, lower down onto your forearms on the mat or on a block.
- Keep your chest moving forward and your hips sinking down.
