About the Pose
A deep backbend from a kneeling position, considered a preparatory pose for Kapotasana (King Pigeon). It involves arching back to place the crown of the head on the floor.
How to Practice
- Kneel with your hands on your thighs. Inhale to lift the chest.
- Exhale and begin to arch back, leading with your heart. Engage your core for support.
- Reach back and grab your ankles or calves, then lower the crown of your head to the floor.

- Deep Spinal Opening: Provides a very deep stretch for the entire spine.
- Stretches Front Body: Opens the quadriceps, hip flexors, and chest.
