About the Pose
Also known as Upward Bow Pose, Wheel Pose is a deep, full backbend that forms a dramatic arch with the body. It is a powerful heart-opener that builds strength in the arms, legs, and spine while providing a deep stretch for the entire front body.
How to Practice
- Lie on your back with knees bent, feet hip-width apart. Place your hands on the mat beside your ears, fingers pointing towards your shoulders.
- Press into your feet and lift your hips, coming to the crown of your head first.
- Pause, then press firmly into your hands to straighten your arms and lift your head off the floor.
